Tables set upon the beach in the evening are overlooking the bonfire a bit further away. A salad adorned with tropical fruits has a single palm heart on top. At that moment, there is a bustle starting next to the beach fire. Local girls are coming towards us, performing the Séga dance that is unique to the island, to the accompaniment of ‘créole’ music. The girls are successively inviting all the guests to dance. It doesn’t take long before a carnival atmosphere with colorful outfits pervades the beach.
